Taiwan acknowledged Kosovo Print E-mail

Taiwan on Tuesday officially acknowledged Kosovo towards that apparently increasingly opposes the rival especially, China, that revealed the concern that in on the declaration of the province independence from Serbia.

The "China republic (Taiwan) from today officially acknowledged Kosovo," said Foreign Affairs Minister James Huang to the reporter, as being quoted by the AFP.

Huang urged the honouring of the struggle to determine fate personally, to make the statement that was raised by the Taiwanese government of pro-independence on Monday, as well as congratulated Kosovo reverberate.
China reacted angry on the Taiwanese support statement for Kosovo, by stressing that the island did not have the right to give the opinion concerning this problem.

"As a sovereign country, we explained had the right to acknowledge the territory as a country," said Huang.
He said that his ministry, that considered giving of help in to Kosovo that was war-ravaged, approaching the government there concerning the possibility of the formation of diplomatic relations.

Taiwan and China were broken in 1949 at the end of the civil war, but Beijing was still regarding this island as part of his territory and was repeatedly threatening to carry out the invasion if Taipeh declared official independence.
Only 23 countries acknowledged Taiwan.
